With Mother’s Day 2018 approaching (Sunday 13th May), we thought it a fitting time to talk about the services available at Vision XRay’s Australian Breast Centre. Australia has one of the best Breast Cancer survival rates in the world and the chance of surviving at least 5 years is now at 90%, and 10 years 83% (source). Early detection through screening has been key to the improved prognosis for breast cancer patients. However, with an ageing population, the number of women diagnosed is expected to increase, and the work of specialist breast screening services remains as important as ever.

The Australian Breast Centre is a dedicated breast screening centre where our patients are comprehensively assessed through consultation, breast imaging (including breast mammography and breast ultrasound) and pathology (breast biopsy). By combining all these services under the one roof, our patients only have to attend a single appointment to have breast symptoms evaluated.
