#HotelMumbai: The Untold Story of Bravery During 26/11 Mumbai Attacks

Today, the trailer of the much talked about film 'Hotel Mumbai,' which puts light on the stories of those brave hearts who saved many lives during the 26/11 attack in Mumbai at the Taj hotel, is released. And, people liked the trailer a lot that the hashtag #HotelMumbai started trending on Twitter.

The film’s English version, which was released last year, has been lauded for sensitively depicting the true story of the indomitable human spirit that prevailed during the brutal 26/11 terrorist attacks at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai in 2008.

The trailer opens with a group of boys entering the city by boat to turn the city of dreams into a nightmare. Must say the film’s thrilling two-and-a-half-minute trailer portrays the triumph of humanity very well.

The trailer starring Anupam Kher and Dev Patel showcases recreated shots from the deadly attacks of 26/11, but since the film is set inside The Taj Mahal Palace in Colaba, we only got to see the goings-on inside the hotel and how its staff managed to save the guests with the punch line ‘Guest Is God’.

In the flick, Anupam Kher plays the role of Chef Hemant Oberoi, who showed extraordinary courage throughout the 2008 attacks. On the other hand, Dev Patel represents one of the staff members who put his life at risk to save the guests residing at the hotel that night. The film also stars Nazanin Boniadi, Armie Hammer, Jason Isaacs, among others.

The official synopsis of the film hotel Mumbai reads--

“72-hour siege, 1600 lives saved. An incredible true story of bravery, courage & heroism, told from a never-seen-before lens. Meet India's heroes in the official trailer of Zee Studios & Purpose Entertainment.”

Anupam Kher had an interview with PTI earlier, where he said,

“It’s a courageous film. In a business where you want to make movies where everything is hunky-dory, it’s important to make a film on this subject. The religion of humanity is much more important than anything else.”

He added,

“Cinema is a great tool, not necessarily for your own catharsis, laughter, sadness, tears but it’s also an important platform for the audience to have a little more compassion for the victims.”

Well, Hotel Mumbai, helmed by Anthony Maras, will hit the screens in India on November 29.

Till then, meet India's heroes in the official trailer here:
