Today we feature Jamie, who made Murder at the Nir Cantina a huge success for everyone involved. Jamie put in a ton of work making the party seem as realistic and entertaining as possible for the guests, which included producing these amazing videos!
Jamie says:
Once we set the date, we went to town deciding how to decorate, who to invite, how to invite them, and what to feed them. We went all out on decorations, food, and planning!
Murder at the Nir Cantina invitations were sent via video and helped get the guests into the theme of the evening.
Character sheets were sent out to each guest in the form of a video invitation with a personalized link to an individual DropBox folder. Each folder contained the character sheet and the guest list, to allow them to get familiar with the various characters prior to the dinner.
The following pictures show how Jamie used mylar emergency blankets on the walls, bought large space murals and space-themed posters, as well as spaceship portals to ensure everyone felt like they were in space. Add in various LED lights, flood lights, LED centerpieces for the tables, and two larger up-lights, and you have an extremely cool cantina.
We moved our furniture out of the living room and entry hall and rented the 4 cocktail tables. My daughter made two large balloon arches. One for the transition from the entryway into the living room, and a shooting star arch for the entryway wall.
We took another user's review and created some videos using Powtoons as well and then created our menu. We ultimately had the event catered, to allow for less work on the day of the event to ensure the food was ready.
Overall, the party was a blast and the murder mystery was great.
It looks like another successful Murder at the Nir Cantina. We look forward to providing Jamie with more mysteries in the future.
