Week 700: “Nature’s Ratio” by Slowly Rolling Camera

http://www.beautifulsongoftheweek.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Natures-Ratio.mp3

It’s week 700 so I want to do something cool for you. But it’s also a holiday so I want to be lazy. So instead of trying to explain the ratio referred to in this song’s title, I’m going to let this video do it for me:

What makes this a beautiful song:

1. Just two instruments; keys and a trumpet having a brief conversation with each other.

2. By the end, the trumpet is being played so gently that it’s not even a note anymore, just air passing through a tube.

3. The song’s “Fibonacci moment” – 72 seconds into its 117 second length, is where the trumpet hits its highest note.

Recommended listening activity:

Having some pineapple. Or broccoli. Or any other edible plant that arranges itself in a Fibonacci-type of way.

Buy it here.
