Kilkea Castle Wedding

Kilkea Castle Wedding

Alexis and James|| Kilkea Castle Wedding

I love that Alexis and James choose to have a Kilkea Castle Wedding. It gave me the chance to practice my skills as a Kildare Wedding Photographer. I loved capturing them and their loved ones as they shared their vows. Here’s a short recap of this beautiful day and the magical Kilkea Castle Wedding.

Wedding Venue

Kilkea Castle is a lovely historical castle dating back to the 12th century. It’s hosted over 800 weddings and is a one-hour drive from Dublin. You’ll love the architecture, service and luxury at the wedding venue.

I enjoyed being the Kildare wedding photographer at this venue. It gave me a chance to capture their fabulous spaces and enjoy their services too. For couples considering this venue, you’ll love hosting a Kilkea Castle Wedding.

Kilkea Castle can host up to 270 guests and offers more than three unique spaces for your celebration. Each of these spaces is unique and breath-taking. Alexis and James used the Rose Garden, Baronial Hall, and the Keep at Kilkea Castle for their wedding.

Getting Ready

I started my day as a Kildare wedding photographer by capturing important wedding details. This included gorgeous views of the venue, the bouquet, the wedding invites and the wedding rings. I also captured the bride’s magnificent wedding dress.

Next, it was time to take pictures of Alexis and her loved ones as they got ready. One thing I loved about these moments was how much the bride was dotted over. Her loved ones wanted everything to be perfect, from her makeup to her hair. It was all so very beautiful.

When it was time for Alexis to put on her wedding dress, everyone pitched in too. Then she posed with her lovely bouquet, and I got some gorgeous bridal portraits of her. Her dad was so delighted when he came in and saw her in her dress too.

From the bridal suite, we all headed out for portraits. I love it when brides choose to do this as part of their getting ready process. I love getting images of everyone while they are still fresh and excited for the day. I took pictures of Alexis with her seven bridesmaids and her family.

I also had a lovely time capturing James and his loved ones as they got ready. I loved that he and his best man had been friends since childhood and that they displayed a picture to show that. They all looked immaculate in navy blue suits, and I loved capturing when they shared drinks too. Then I took photos with family and portraits of the groom and groomsmen before heading to the ceremony.

Wedding Ceremony

To start Alexis and James’s ceremony, I went around and captured important ceremony details too. I started with the ceremony space, which was the Rose Garden at Kilkea Castle. Then I included the Irish piper who played for the ceremony too.

I also captured the lovely seating arrangement for this couple’s ceremony. It included white chairs and beautiful white aisle lanterns. I took pictures as guests got seated and then captured James and the wedding celebrant as they got ready. Then it was time for the wedding ceremony to start.

Alexis and James’s Kilkea Castle wedding ceremony started with the bridesmaids walking down the aisle. Then the cherubic little ring bearer walked down the aisle too. Finally, Alexis and her dad came down the aisle. James looked so delighted to see her.

Next, the female wedding celebrant led the couple through the various ceremony aspects. This included a candle lighting ceremony, personalised vows and the ring exchange. The couples then shared a kiss and were introduced as married to the delight of the guests. I used my candid wedding photography skills to document this ceremony.

Cocktail Hour/ Wedding Day Photo shoot

Immediately after the ceremony, Alexis and James had a meet and greet with their loved ones. I took pictures as they hugged and shared some words before organising the group portraits. Then I took photos of the couple with their wedding party too.

I had a lovely time capturing Alexis and James’s couple portraits on Kilkea Castle grounds. We used the gardens, lawns and even took some indoor photos too. You could see how much in love the couple is through it all. I also took some personal bride and groom portraits.

Wedding Reception

Alexis and James had their Kilkea Castle wedding reception immediately after their ceremony. It took place at the Baronial Hall, which is a lovely setting. The wedding party danced in first before Alexis and James did the same to start the event.

This wedding reception was one of fun and laughter. The speeches were emotional and fun. The kids at this wedding had a fun time playing with each other too. James then gave a thank you speech for the couple before they did the cake cutting.

After the wedding reception, the couple and their guests moved to The Keep for the party. Here the couple had a romantic first dance and the parent-child dances. Then it was time for everyone to join in the fun. I had a lovely time documenting all of these remarkable and fun moments.

Conclusion

I had a great time being the Kildare wedding photographer at this Kilkea Castle wedding. I love big weddings as they are always fun. Alexis, James and their guests had a lovely time, and I enjoyed documenting it. Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day, Alexis and James. I wish you both and your lovely family the best now and always.
