The source of our power behind a burdened heart in Evangelism

I have once written an article in the past about the tools we need in becoming better evangelists, especially when it comes to personal evangelism. One of the key point we pointed out was ‘HAVING A BURDENED HEART FOR OTHERS’.  Having a burdened heart means, feeling the need for others to know and learn about Christ as we do. We burn with a desire for to know Christ and be saved as we have been saved in Christ Jesus.

Today I just want us to simply look at the power behind a burdened heart,

The power behind a burdened heart to share the message is Jesus. Jesus Himself felt the burden of others to come to the Kingdom of God. If we truly know Christ, we are to reflect Him, and one way to do that is to feel the needs of others as He deed. We ought to show compassion to others as He did. We are to feel the need for them to Know Christ, as Jesus felt the need for us to know about eternal life in God’s kingdom. He felt the need for us to be reconciled back to God, that’s why He came to die for us; therefore we should also have burdened hearts because Jesus had a burdened heart for us.

We are to have burdened hearts for others, because Jesus had a burdened heart for us. If Christ had a burdened heart for us to be saved, we should also feel the same for others. Jesus cared about people, He desired for them to come to Him and know where they could find true peace.

Luke 19: 41-42 ‘’When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it, saying, "If you had known in this day, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.’’

When it comes to evangelism, Jesus should be the source of our power in burdened hearts. We should have a burdened heart, because Christ who we reflect had a burdened heart for the lost sheep. We are to have burdened heart for others because of what Jesus has done for us. Christ should be our living example to why we should have burdened heart. Jesus made himself reachable, available, and approachable. He continues to be the same today. We are to be like Him, and He should be the source of power behind our burdened hearts for others to receive salvation through His name. We are to have burdened hearts for others to be saved Jesus had a burdened heart for us, to why he came to die for you and me so that we could have eternal life with God.
