Top 10 Songs: Month of July 2017

Nafla - Jail
Nafla continues to deliver bangers and he doesn't disappoint with the Calif flavored track "Jail" produced by Cloudy Beats. Not only is the Beat hard hitting and in your face, Nafla comes through with some tight lyrics as usual. This is a pre-release of his upcoming LP "Angles" and I can not wait to hear what that album has in store.

Dok2 & Jay Park - Most Hated
I hope to god this may be the beginning of something amazing. Hopefully this is the first step in finally getting a Dok2 and Jay Park album/Mixtape. I've wanted that for years. But this Song here is dope. The bass hits hard just like I love it. Dok2 and Jay killed it of course. Nothing left to say besides I need a gold Cadillac now.

Superbee, Dok2, Myundo, Keem Hyoeun, The Quiett - Air Do The Q 3
I thought Most Hated was fire until I heard this and it blew me away. The third installment of AirDoTheQ did not disappoint and in fact it is the best one yet. Everyone killed their parts here and the Beat Switch when Keem Hyoeun starts to rap is amazing. Beat switches just follow this man like a rain cloud. The beat was dirty just like I like it and I need to blow my car speakers out listening to it.

Millic - Igloo
Millic is joined by his Club Eskimo members; Dean, Crush, Miso and Punchnello to create a very experimental yet fun track on “Igloo”. Miso starts the song singing of a relationships but then halfway through Dean’s verse, the beat speeds even more. Dean’s verse is really good but then we have a beat switch during that verse. The beat continues when Crush and Punchnello hop on. The beat switch was unexpected and weird but it grew on me over time. Everyone here killed their parts creating a really good song.

Zico - FANXY CHILD
The standout track from "Television" and my favorite on the album is easily "Fanxy Child" with Dean, Crush and Penomeco. All of them killed their verses and have great chemistry. The beat is pretty simple in design but it goes hard regardless. Each rapper uses the beat in their own ways keeping it interesting.

Jessi - Spirit Animal
Spirit animal has an eerie feel to it regardless of the more upbeat and theatrical beat. Jessi has been pretty brash and confident on this album but this song has the best representation of that because she’s more blunt here. I love the lines  “Tiny little girl but he voice heavy metal” and “Wait Me. plastic?/Hmm I’m fantastic/My momma says I’m pretty/Yo momma she a fan bitch”. The entire song Jessi is proving she has bars and accolades but those two stuck out he most because of the hilarity and accuracy.

G.Soul - Bad Habit
G.Soul and Thurxday bought us another gret track in bad Habit which is about seeing weird shit at the club but just wanting to drink and dance in peace. I love beat as its pretty smooth and straight foreword but the selling point is definitely Soul's singing as he puts so much passion into his voice. Another banger by two great artists that I can't get enough of.

Sabrina Claudio - Belong To You
The singer brings her signature sultry yet powerful voice to yet another addictive beat. The lyrics aren't extravagant or mind blowing but the way she puts so much passion and creativity into what she is saying, a typical song about wanting to have sex with your infamous partner now becomes an addictive, sexy, and more importantly, an experience.

Tyler The Creator - See You Again/Boredom
One of my favorite Rappers has released his 4th album "Scum Fuck Flower Boy" The entire album is amazing but I can only pick one song and that was hard. See You again features Kali Uchis singing on the chorus and hook as Tyler raps about how he can't get this person out his head. The beat is so sweet yet brash. The song is so catchy and melodic. Now the other song is Boredom which is one of the chillest songs I've ever heard. The songs starts with Rex Orange County and Corrine Bailey singing before Ana of The north takes over as lead female singer and Tyler eventually starts to rap about being bored and his friends leaving him behind. The beat is so damn chill and pleasing. Its a damn shame how great these songs really are.

Jang Hyunseung - Home
Hyunseung has finally made his return with the single Home where he pours his heart out over an acoustic guitar driven instrumental. He sings about losing a love because he was too immature to appreciate them. I forgot just how much I loved this man's voice. He did not disappoint and the whispering at the end of the song is pure gold. I damn near cried listening to this. Hopefully, Hyunseung is back for good.

Honorable Mentions
Han Gi Ran - Consolation
DMeanor - Don't Hug Me
Revert - Views From A Cloud
