Naruto Shippuden anime schedule December 2015 and news

Naruto Shippuden anime episode release dates December 2015

(Updated Dec 14 w/ full episodes)

But is it realistic to hope that we will see canon on Christmas season, when the new January 2016 season is already around the corner?

Episode 440 “The Caged Bird” (籠の鳥) December 3, 2015

Seems like more surrealistic Neji filler, it’s getting existential and philosophical at this point, with parallel test dimensions and all. Even Stan Lee and Jack Kirby (RIP) would be proud. o.o

Episode 441 “Return” (帰還) December 10, 2015

A temporary Return to canon? A retelling of Naruto’s return to Konoha after the first timeskip, from everyone’s dream-state perspective?

Episode 442      “To each their own way (The Mutual Path)”  (互いの道)     December 17, 2015

About Sasuke and Naruto’s ways? Each and everyone’s dreams?

Episode 443       “Variance of Strength” (力の差)     December 24, 2015

Seems to be about the differences between Naruto and Sasuke at the beginning of the series. A foreshadowing to their final fight?

In an interesting twist, they managed to accomodate yet another episode on December 24, making it the last of the year.

(Update Jan 1, 2016) Here’s the new January 2016 schedule, filler again, and I explain why

Which begs the BIG dreaded question for us fans who have been following this series through heaven and filler hell:

Will Naruto Shippuden end next year?

This all depends on what Studio Pierrot gets or doesn’t get out of this.

Because I’ve been thinking lately that they could pull off fillerology till 2018 or even 2020, AFTER the main storyline ends.

In fact, they could relaunch ‘Naruto’ and stay in pre-timeskip mode, even overriding canon, giving us more pre-time skip Sasuke storylines, focusing more on Ino-Shika-Chou, Neji, Kiba, etc.

Other possibility could be giving us more bidanshi Naruto and Sasuke stories, with Boruto and Sarada as main characters too.

Especially due to this:

A new Naruto and Boruto spin-off manga in the works? a new movie too?

While it hasn’t been exactly confirmed or green-lit through an official Studio Pierrot press release, Kishimoto-sensei reportedly indicated in a recent interview that he may be considering writing a sequel to Boruto movie, and also a spin-off Manga.

“If I decide that I want to do more stories, perhaps I will, perhaps I won’t. That said, there is nothing firmly in the works at this time. Just that there is always a possibility”.

Well, this actually sounds like the door may be open, under certain conditions. Maybe he’s throwing this to get more negotiation leverage with the studio?

Because even if Studio Pierrot owned partially Naruto’s rights, he’s still the creator, after all.

This somehow coincides with the reported spin-off manga based on Jiraiya’s perspective, ans even an spin-off focused on Naruto and Sasuke’s relationship, but from what it seems, there’s nothing definite at this point yet.

Maybe all these rumors have been stirred because Studio Pierrot is already debating internally how will they end the anime, and keep turning a profit after the canon material is done o.o

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 demo details and new trailers

Well, the February 4 -9 worldwide release date is practically around the corner too, with Bandai Namco and CyberConnect 2 giving everything they have to make everyone buy the game before it’s even released.

A preorder downloadable version is already available in Europe, and the game will reportedly take 28GB minimum on PS4 consoles.

There will be two versions: the regular and deluxe, and it will also be compatible with PS3. The prices for Europe are so far €69.99 and €89.99, respectively.

We keep getting new screenshots of Madara Uchiha and Senju Hashirama, which were published in the latest edition of Shonen Jump magazine.

Also, the official demo will be released in Japan around December 3-4, only playable in PS4, though this date is not officially confirmed.

Aside from the Story and Adventure Mode, which will contain the Fourth Great Shinobi War, there will also a Ninja Treasure mode, in which you can purchase goodies with Ryos.

It is said that promotion will begin heavily on December, if not already.

Meanwhile, here’s the latest trailer featuring a 2 on 2 fight between Kakashi and Obito vs Itachi and Shisui:

Those who preorder will get the Season DLC pass, consisting of three packs that gives you:

  • New items, new characters (Boruto and Sarada and people from that timeline),
  • Character costumes (The Last and Boruto movie costumes, including Chinese costumes for Naruto and Sasuke for the Chinese version of the game)
  • And special scenarios (probably the futuristic Konoha).

That’s how you can get access too to the exclusive Secret Combination Technique no Jutsu (from adult Naruto and Sasuke, and Boruto and Sarada, Kakashi and Obito’s joined Mangekyo Sharingan).

There was also a leaked Kaguya screenshot that is quite spoilery for those following the anime:

Kaguya resembling the Moon Rabbit o.o

And Siliconera already has listed the Minimum System Requirements for PC:

The Story Mode is said to be 10-hour.

  • OS: Windows (64bit) 7 or higher up to date

Masashi Kishimoto interview with Entertainment Weekly

After the premiere of Boruto: Naruto the movie in the US, garnering an overwhelmingly positive response, EW’s Andrea Towers interviewed Kishimoto-sensei.

It’s interesting how he noted the phenomena of ‘globalization of manga’, in that manga began to become more popular outside of Japan, and how he was glad that Naruto helped to this process.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Naruto has had a massive impact on the manga community. From your perspective, how have you seen this genre shift and evolve in your time associated with it?
MASASHI KISHIMOTO: Manga was already starting to trickle outside Japan when my series started. So I don’t know that I can take credit for the spread [of manga]. During the series, manga exploded, and I must say that part of what made Naruto successful was the globalization of manga, and the fact that all over the world, fans can enjoy and read manga even though the reading order is different than what people are used to. Originally, manga was this little niche industry, only appreciated by fans even in Japan. Now most laypeople are aware.

He indicated also that the most difficult part of the story for him was the Pain arc,in terms of showcasing how a shonen character like Naruto was going to forgive the man that killed Jiraiya, and so many people for his goal of ‘peace’.

Aside this, he showed plenty of optimism in the future of manga, and how digital tools make this accesible for anyone:

Not only has manga expanded globally, but manga style has expanded. Especially with the development of high quality digital tools, the artistic side of manga has become much easier. I think that there’ll be a whole new class of artists from all over the world emerging that may have been previously discouraged and now with these digital tools, they’ll be able to create works and create what looks like manga but have a totally different perspective since their views are different from those from Japan. I think that will help expand the manga field through their new stories and new perspectives, and I really look forward to seeing the results of some of their works.

You can read the full interview here.

You will be amused by the original 1999 artwork, as the original theme seemed to be more serious and apparently Naruto and Sasuke were going to be enemies (after the NaruSasu kiss anyway o.o)

The End of Naruto and the Shipping wars controversy: even ANN takes a stand

Credit to cuttieartgirl at Deviantart

ANN’s Amy McNulty couldn’t help but write an insightful synopsis review on Naruto’s storyline and the attention it has gained over the years over the so-called ‘pairings’, and how they almost eclipsed the main storyline for some, and how it could even may have influenced the manga’s ending.

To say that romance is secondary in the world of Naruto would be an understatement. However, after the manga’s chapter-long epilogue, in which Kishimoto revealed whom most of the characters marry and what their children will look like, the Western Naruto fandom reeled in shock. (Kishimoto said he was unaware of such a reaction in Japan.) Naruto didn’t marry Sakura!

The article takes a stance towards NaruHina, but points out the inconsistence of SasuSaku.

However, the author should have noted too how the origin of NaruHina is basically Kishimoto’s retcon on the first chapters of the manga, and how Studio Pierrot influenced NaruHina by giving it more screen presence in the fillers and some key scenes.

See? And so this debate will never end, it can become the ‘Han Solo shot first’ of manga history.

Not surprisingly, the comments section of the article got pretty hotheaded.

But do you think that Shipping Wars ruined Naruto?

For me, far from it, as this controversy will fuel the manga’s cultural memory for years, already an element of classic manga. Plus, the doujinshi.

Everyone has it own vision of the canon story, and if somebody writes more serious ninja/politics themes, then more power to him/her!
