Benilde will be giving free Filipino Sign Language lessons online

The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde will be holding a series of basic Filipino Sign Language (FSL) online lessons starting on May 30, 2020 via Facebook Live session. It will be conducted by the Benilde School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies.

Filipino Sign Language online lessons will be streamed for free but participants who are willing and able are encouraged to donate for the #SignForSigns fundraising campaign.

A minimum contribution of P350 will give you access to an FSL Learning Kit, which you can use to continue learning sign language at home.

It aims to raise funds for the Deaf students living allowances who are stranded in their dormitories, for FSL Learning Program faculty who are on no work no pay scheme, and for FSL Access Team for COVID-19 who render their services as media interpreters in daily news in major broadcast networks during this time of the pandemic.

Proceeds will also fund indigent Deaf scholars who need to return to their respective provinces after the Extended Community Quarantine is lifted.
