Practicing Hasya Yoga is Easy and Seriously Healthy!

Have you ever heard of laughter yoga (Hasya Yoga)? It’s starting to become a real worldwide phenomenon and due to the simplicity of its basic exercises more and more people are giving it a try. Laughter therapy is already known to be a serious healing procedure. So practicing Hasya Yoga combines the benefits of laughing with the ones provided by yoga. If you’re looking for easy yoga exercises and perhaps have some fun while doing them, laughter yoga might be really worth your time.

How Do You Practice Hasya Yoga?

Whether you’re alone or in a group, the very first step is to accept that you don’t need a reason to laugh. So, start! Soon, you’ll realize that the laughter will become genuine.

The next step is to clap your hands in front of the heart chakra while keeping eye contact with other people – or with the mirror if you’re alone at home. This is known as the welcome laughter.

Begin to extend your hands towards the sky after having performed the greeting. Now hold this position for a minute and focus on your laughter. By this time, it should start to become uncontrollable.

Think the following mantra: “May all beings be happy!”. And once you feel like you’re regaining control of yourself, sing the Om Song. Make up your own melody if you wish. This will bring you to a peaceful place and let you proceed with a newfound optimism throughout the rest of the day. That’s all. These very easy yoga exercises can really be done by anyone! No flexibility or strength required!

What Are the Benefits?

Hasya Yoga, like we said already, combines the healing power of laughter therapy with the benefits of yoga. So we can safely say that there are at least 5 aspects in health and life in general which will be greatly impacted upon getting into laughter yoga.

Laughing strengthens the cardiovascular system decreasing the chances of suffering from heart diseases in the future. It’s a great exercise to finally get rid of stress. It’s still a great aerobic workout that releases endorphins, which are the hormones associated with the sense of well-being. And plus, it restores the long lost playfulness you had when you were young while increasing your attractiveness.

Laughter yoga will make you live longer, will keep you young on the inside, and will give you the tools to build and maintain better relationships.

We know that sometimes laughing doesn’t really come natural. But we implore you to get rid of stress and start practicing at least some form of meditation right now! You’ll be surprised of how fast things can change.
