The Power of Living With Intention

So many of us live our lives waiting for the right things to come to us. Maybe you think life will be better in 2, 5, or 10 years times when X is different and Y comes along, but what if that isn’t the case? Deciding to be happy in the future when certain things fall into place isn’t the best idea because it delays your happiness in the present and prevents you from enjoying the moment. Living with intention is one of the biggest factors in living a great life and achieving success, here’s why.

We Make Better DecisionsWhen we live with purpose and intent, we put more thought and care into our decisions, meaning that we probably make better ones. Even small decisions, such as choosing a bowl of oatmeal over a muffin in the morning can greatly impact your life if you choose to go with the better option every day until it becomes a healthy habit.

We Enjoy Life Right Now – As we said before, living intentionally means that every day counts, not just the big occasions or the milestones but the monotonous activities of everyday life. Once you start to see the importance of living in the now and for the now, you will see how significant the minor events become somewhere down the line. Don’t delay your happiness any longer, choose to appreciate your life for what it is at this moment.

We Increase Our Chances For Success – You’re never too young or too old to find success, and you shouldn’t underestimate your abilities just because of your age. If you really want to do something, why not just go for it and see where you end up? Intentional living means shutting off the voice that tells you don’t have the right experience, it’s not the right time, or you’ll do it when you’ve reached a certain age. If you feel ready to do something and you think you have what it takes, then go for it! You might never get the opportunity again.

We Get What We Want – The real power of intention is that it brings the power back to you. Want to lose 5 pounds in two weeks? Want to ace your final exams? Want to secure that highly sought after position in a top firm? Well you can do all of those things, you just need to get into the right frame of mind where you know what you want and decide exactly how you’re going to get there. Make your objectives in life clear, and then break them down into small, bite-sized goals that are easy to accomplish. Before you know it, you’ll be achieving all your dreams and feeling more confident than ever.

Start living with intention and purpose today by doing something you’ve been putting off for a while. Don’t wait until later, tomorrow or next year, see what you can achieve right at this very moment if you put your mind to it. Just remember to keep in mind your reasons for doing something, and make sure there is a point to the actions you take.
