I've heard for several years about the series 'House of Cards'. I had just watched The Crown and realized the ins and outs of politics that affected the monarchy, so I watched the House of Cards!
After just a few episodes, I thought, "is that all our government is, sex, lies, and deception? Sadly it is, if you watch the news! Then I remembered the scripture in Mark 7:21 (KJV) "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders." We must pray for our leaders!
While the series may be informative about our governments, behavior in governing, it is a little graphic in its portrayal! No wonder our young people betray each other in marriage! They see it as a way of life in our leaders!
I don't think we should close our eyes to what is happening around us, but I also want to be true to my teaching as a child and Protect what I hear, see and speak!
Ask God to direct your steps each day and then listen to His directions!
