Family of C-Murder’s Alleged Victim Slam Kim Kardashian

*The family of C-Murder’s (Corey Miller) alleged victim wants Kim Kardashian to stop advocating for his prison release.

Miller is serving life in prison for the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Steve Thomas in 2009. He appealed after one of the jurors revealed she (and other jurors) received “brutal” pressure to vote guilty. But his murder conviction was upheld by the court.

Kenneth Jordan, a key witness in the trial, filed a sworn affidavit, in 2018 stating, “I know the individual that I saw shoot the gun was not Corey Miller.” Jordan says Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives pressured him to lie under oath, or else he would face a 10-year sentence on unrelated criminal charges, EUR previously reported.

George Thomas, the victim’s brother, said whenever celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Miller’s brother, rapper Master P, publicly support his release, old wounds are reopened.

Miller’s ex-girlfriend, R&B singer Monica, has also vowed to help get him released.

According to Thomas, there is substantial evidence pointing to Miller as the shooter and only celebrities are pushing for his release.

As The Jasmine Brand reports, Kardashian said, in part, via a statement on Instagram: “Louisiana recently enacted a new law that provides innocent people with the ability to raise a post-conviction claim of factual innocence. Mr. Miller has raised such a claim and, like all of his prior post-conviction filings, has been denied relief without even so much as an evidentiary hearing. In light of the fact that the only witnesses have completely recanted their testimony, there is absolutely no remaining evidence against Mr. Miller.”

In 2021 it was reported that Miller added civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump to his legal team.

Crump, along with attorney Ronald Haley Jr., released the following statement about the case amid the COVID pandemic and lockdown: “Mr. Miller maintains his innocence and we are diligently working with his legal defense team to free him, but in the meantime, we are monitoring the conditions at Elayn Hunt and are considering taking legal action. We stand with Mr. Miller and everyone who is incarcerated who are in fear of losing their lives due to the pandemic and inhumanity of the correctional system. We demand that the Department of Corrections act immediately.”
