*We caught up with MissDriDri, the Chicago-based artist behind the lyrics in “Kold x Windy’s” original music.

MissDriDri was tapped to pen the lyrics for music in the new WE tv series that follows female rap duo, Kold x Windy, as they navigate the dangers of the drill music game and the streets in Chicago.

“On their hustle to the top, they face crime, violence and betrayal, from white-collar money-making “stains” to rival gangs and explosive personal relationships. Ultimately, their sisterhood is put to the test as Malika “Kold” Wise yearns for a better life while Renee “Windy” Johnson craves street credibility,” per the official synopsis.

The series stars Sh’Kia Augustin (Black Lightning),Nijah Brenea (Rap Sh!t), Brely Evans (“Ambitions”), Kaja Brielle (“Black Lightning”), Kiyanne Muhammad (“Love and Hip Hop: New York”) and Solo Lucci (“Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood”). Check out the teaser trailer below.

MissDriDri has 2M+ followers across Instagram and Twitter, where her remarkable ASSets on are full display.

Per a news release: The lyrics tell the story and mimic the challenges, anger, and lifestyle of today’s generation that live in this culture every day. Lyrics for each song performed on picture were written by Miss DriDri, who is just as fierce and dangerous with a pen as Kold x Windy is on the mic. She was able to lyrically capture the essence of what these young women face and help tell their story in each episode with lyrics to songs like “Top Opp”, “Temp Check” or the theme song “RaqCity”.

WE tv’s eight-episode scripted drama series, “Kold x Windy,” from creators Kenny Young (One Week), Phil James (Bachelors), and Vernon “Xtreme” Brown (Raven Music) become available on popular AMC streaming service ALLBLK, every Monday, following their premiere on WE tv.
