Before leaving office, Obama unveiled a plan to install electric car Charging Stations on 55 interstate highways. 48 of which will be designated for electric cars only.


Electric companies, carmakers, and 28 states have all committed to the new infrastructure. Charging stations will be spaced every 50 miles and focus on DC fast charging ports for long trips.
