Sanctuary Cities Vs Trump


These Cities aren't backing down as President Trump tries to make good on this promise made on Aug 31, 2016: "Block funding for Sanctuary Cities, we block the funding. No more funding."

ED Murray Seattle Mayor said, "This city will not be bullied by this administration into abandoning our core values and we believe we have the rule of law and the courts on our side. "

Saira Hussain Staff Attorney, Asian Law Caucus said, "We will continue to remain a sanctuary city in the face of hostile federal actions.

California (Senate Leader) tweeted "Cutting off funds for cities that refuse destructive deportation programs is unconstitutional. See you in court."

Trump signed an executive order to halt funding to "sanctuary cities." These jurisdictions limit cooperation with the feds in deporting undocumented immigrants.

On Jan 25, 2017 Trump said, "We're going to get the bad ones out. We will save thousands and thousands of lives.

Trump is ordering his administration to compile a weekly list of crimes committed by undocumented people in the U.S.

Eric Garcetti mayor of Los Angeles said, "I think there's an attempt to paint a caricature that doesn't exist in our cities. Every single day we work together with our federal law enforcement officials. We do believe that we should cooperate and collaborate but in a constitutional way.
