India's Niagara - Chitrakote Waterfalls


Chitrakote Waterfalls in Chhattisgarh is no ordinary Waterfall. This waterfall is 100 feet high and 1000 feet wide. Not only is it the widest waterfall in India, it also changes colour with every season. The colour change happens because of the changing climatic conditions.

Because of its horseshoe shape, it's also called the Niagara Falls of India. Can you guess the amount of water that falls every second? its 20 lakh liters water.

To put it in perspective, let's say if a human drinks 2 litres of water every day, It will take a mere 20 mins for it to quench the nation of 1.2 billion people. Pressure of falling water is equivalent to the weight of 500 elephants. The scale of this waterfall is astounding
