Meet These Young Filipino Photography Aces

Speak about millennials and a number of diverse descriptions easily come to mind. Also known as the “Generation Y,” they are noted as self-assured, positive, emotionally charged, techy and artistic. Millennials constantly clamor for connections. And all, it has been acknowledged that self-expression and creativity are inherent attributes of the said generation.

So, imagine if a millennial hops right into a hobby and career like Photography, design, painting, lettering and other art-related thingies.
Think about this. Anyone can be a photographer, but not all can pull it off. Not too many who own a camera can capture beyond an image. Sounds like too disheartening? That’s a no-no for these young and exceptional photographers from the Philippines.

Hannah Reyes Morales

Lonely Planet, The Wall Street Journal, National Geographic and The New York Times give the thumbs-up to Hannah. Her snaps have reached Denmark, China, Thailand and South Korea. Hannah’s photos are unquestionably aesthetically pleasing, hip and real. She’s so in it! Indeed, she is someone to watch out for.

Andrew Apuya

A good photographer has to be someone who’s more than artistic. Every image should be an evidence of his passion and expertise in his chosen field. That’s true for Andrew. His portfolio shows that compositions are clearly well thought out. Know more of this dude through andrewapuya.com.

Aya Cabauatan

Aya is one in a million. And it’s not even an exaggeration. Go, take a look at her Instagram account and you’ll be floored with this teenager’s feed. She’s someone who sees photography as more than having the best camera (and all the high tech equipment that should go with it). It’s as if her eyes are always open to the perfect angles and lighting. What a brilliant chick!

BJ Pascual

This guy is one of the most sought-after photographers in the Philippines today. He shoots fashion, entertainment and other ad campaigns. And man, he has been excelling in his craft while is taking pleasure in being a freelance photographer. Just so you know, he released Push: Muses, Mischief, & How To Make It In Manila. It’s a must-read for every budding photographer. Oh and one thing’s for sure, BJ is loved by his muses.

Shaira Luna

The gifted child. Shaira is! She can talk big about arts, music and science. Years ago, at 13, she got into a reputable university in Manila. She could have been a doctor but chose to run after photography. Food, bands, basketball games, birthdays, festivals- name any and that’s where Shaira has put her photography skills on show.

Kara Chung

Her online bio says that she’s also into graphic design and music, alongside taking photos. The latter is her way to connect with people. Now, get a load of her photos and you might quickly judge that photography has come like a breeze for Kara. Without doubt, this rising photographer can secure a spot and be in line with more seasoned shutterbugs. See more of her at www.karachung.com.

Wow, I’m feeling inspired to grab my cam now. How about you?
