Netflix has renewed The Diplomat for a second season. The show earns a second run after debuting at #1 on Netflix’s weekly global Top 10 TV English list in April.

After that jaw-dropping cliffhanger, we can’t wait for them to see what the amazing visionary team of Debora Cahn, Janice Williams and Keri Russell have in store for Season 2,” said Jinny Howe, Vice President of Drama Series, Netflix.
Created by Debora Cahn, the series stars Keri Russell, Rufus Sewell, Ali Ahn, Nana Mensah and Ato Essandoh.
“The Diplomat follows a new US Ambassador to the United Kingdom in a ‘high-stakes, contemporary political drama about the transcendence and torture of long-term relationships, between countries and people,'” the logline reads.
The Diplomat arrived on Netflix in late April. At this time, it is unclear when the series will return for a second season. For now, check out the trailer below and catch up on season one.
