Cross your fingers! Terence Crawford will reportedly fight Errol Spence Jr. for the undisputed welterweight title on June 17, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. A venue has not yet been determined, but an official announcement is expected to take place on April 22, 2023.

This is not the first time that Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford have attempted to reach an agreement for a title bout. Following his most recent victory against Yordenis Ugas, Spence Jr. publicly called for a bout with Crawford.

“Everybody knows who I want next, I want Terence Crawford next. That’s the fight that I want, that’s the fight everybody else wants,” Spence Jr. said last April.

“Terence, I’m coming for that motherf*ckin’ belt.”

After reports suggested that the two would fight in November 2022, negotiations fell apart due to various disputes. More recently, Crawford met with Oscar De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins of Golden Boy Promotions. De La Hoya and Hopkins expressed an interest in helping Crawford reach an agreement with Spence Jr.’s representatives.

“You know we’re exploring our options, opportunities. You know, he does have a mandatory with one of our fighters. But look, I’m telling Crawford, ‘Let me represent you. Let me help you in making the Errol Spence fight happen.’ You know, we have experience with how Al Haymon works. We have experience with how PBC works,” De La Hoya said in New York last month.

At this time, neither fighter has publicly confirmed their intention to fight in June. More details to come as the date nears.
