Hudson Card Enters Transfer Portal

Texas Longhorns Quarterback Hudson Card has announced he will enter the Transfer Portal and play elsewhere next season. A former top quarterback recruit, Card did not win the starting job this past season against five-star red-shirt freshman Quinn Ewers. The sophomore played limited snaps the past two seasons including games when Ewers was unable to start because of an injury. Before he committed to the Texas Longhorns he also held offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes, and several other top football programs. He is expected to have several top programs recruiting him once he’s allowed to officially enter the transfer portal.

In his career with the Texas Longhorns, Hudson Card completed 127 passes for 1,523 yards, eleven touchdowns, and two touchdowns on 194 passing attempts. He also rushed the ball 47 times for 74 yards and one touchdown. With Quinn Ewers solidly the starter and 2023 five-star quarterback Arch Manning headed into the program next year, it makes sense that Card would want to transfer out of the program. He will look for a program that will give him the chance to start and get better as a quarterback.
