The Baltimore Ravens have placed running back, Gus Edwards, on the reserve/PUP list. This means he will miss at least the first four games of the 2022-23 NFL season. Edwards is currently recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last year at the beginning of September. The team had a long string of injuries last year that included the loss of Edwards after he was promoted to starting running back. He was promoted to starter because the original starter J.K. Dobbins also tore his ACL. Now Edwards will have at least four extra weeks to prepare to start his season with the Ravens.

When Gus Edwards last played for the Baltimore Ravens in 2020 he rushed the ball 144 times for 723 yards and six touchdowns. He also caught nine passes for 129 yards and zero touchdowns. Edwards fumbled the ball one time in 2020. Edwards served as mostly a supplemental running back with the Baltimore Ravens, but when he returns projects to be the primary backup behind J.K. Dobbins. For now, he needs to focus on getting healthy and ready for his return to the field.

The Baltimore Ravens had a disastrous season last year mostly due to several key injuries. This season they are looking to bounce back and compete for a spot in the 2023 NFL Playoffs and an AFC North title. With Gus Edwards and everyone else back, they should be considerably more competitive this season.
