Kevin Huerter Traded to Sacramento Kings

The Atlanta Hawks have traded Kevin Huerter to the Sacramento Kings for Justin Holiday, Mo Harkless, and a future first-round pick. Sacramento has prioritized shooting this offseason by drafting Iowa Hawkeyes forward Keegan Murray, signing Lakers guard Malik Monk, and now trading for Huerter. Atlanta was looking to shake up the roster and Huerter seemed to be the odd man out after the team drafted Duke Blue Devils wing, AJ Griffin. The Hawks pick up some draft capital for sending the talented shooter to the Kings.

This past season with the Atlanta Hawks, Kevin Huerter averaged 12.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 45.4 percent and a three-point percentage of 38.9 percent. Huerter has proved himself as a capable wing in an NBA rotation and will likely play more small forward for the Kings considering their depth at guard. He and Malik Monk provide talented depth and could help the Kings win some more games this upcoming NBA season. Compensation update:

The Kings have not been entirely competitive in the NBA for some time and are looking to change that moving forward. While the roster has changed considerably over the past year there is still plenty to be worked out moving forward. This roster will need to gel and learn to win games together on the court. Kevin Huerter is an interesting addition to the Kings heading into next season.
