DeVon Franklin is set to produce the upcoming film, Reckless Love, for Paramount Pictures. The film is being written by J. Mills Goodloe of P.S. I Still Love You and inspired by “Reckless Love” by Cory Asbury.
Asbury’s song is a Christian hit. Inspired by his relationship with his wife and mother of his four children, the song spent 68 weeks on the Hot Christian Songs chart. It also spent 18 weeks at number one and earned 300 million total streams. Ultimately, Asbury won a Grammy for his work.
Goodloe has written a number of films including Everything, Everything, The Mountain Between Us and The Age of Adaline.
Meanwhile, Franklin has steadily built up his resume as a producer. The preacher and motivational speaker has produced films like Breakthrough, The Star and Miracles From Heaven. Moving forward, he is set to produce films about the life of Kirk Franklin and a biopic about the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos creator.
