Wale Performs ‘Sue Me’ At Howard University

The COVID-19 pandemic has altered every aspect of our everyday lives. From work to grocery shopping, the virus has changed everyday social interactions and eliminated large social gatherings. One of the many things to be taken away from us this year is homecoming. At Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the country, homecoming isn’t just one event. It’s a large scale celebration not only for the school, but for the entire city.

Among the many schools known for their homecoming celebrations is Howard University. Typically, Wale and many other Washington, D.C. residents would be gathering on The Yard for Yardfest on Friday. In an effort to keep that celebratory feeling going despite the ongoing pandemic, Wale took to Howard University for a virtual performance.

Standing at center court in Burr Gymnasium, the Washington, D.C. native delivered a passionate performance of “Sue Me” from his latest album, Wow…That’s Crazy.

“Sue me, I’m rootin’ for everybody that black/Spent ’bout two racks on handmade durags/Sue me, I’m rootin’ for everybody that black/That’s everybody from sports to college class to rap, I’m back,” he raps.

Check out the full performance from Wale below.
