HBO has signed off on a television adaptation of Ingmar Bergman’s Scenes From A Marriage. The limited series will be led by a cast that includes Oscar Issac and Michelle Williams. Meanwhile, Hagai Levi will direct the series and Media Res and Endeavor Content will produce. Levi will also co-executive produce alongside Michael Ellenberg, Lars Blomgren Daniel Bergman, Issac and Williams.

This Levi’s latest project with HBO. Previously, he worked with the premium cable network on Our Boys and Treatment. His male lead, Issac, also had a strong relationship with network. Prior to this project, Issac starred in Show Me A Hero.

This is just the latest limited series to hit the premium cable titan. In recent months, limited series such as I Know This Much Is True, The Plot Against America and We Are Who We Are have found great success on the network. Most notably, HBO’s Big Little Lies kicked off as a limited series before it was pushed to a second season.

The now untitled series will likely begin production in 2021.
