Big Sean donates $10,000 to Wayne State University’s “Helping Individuals Go Higher” Program through his Sean Anderson Foundation.

This is not the first time the Detroit rapper has extended his philanthropic efforts to WSU or the HIGH program. According to a news report on the Wayne State University website, this marks Big Sean’s fourth donation to the initiative.

In 2016, the Sean Anderson Foundation created a $25,000 endowment for the program, donated $15,000 to the HIGH Program in 2017 and $10,000 in 2018. The HIGH Program addresses student homelessness at Wayne State University. The HIGH Program has the mission ensuring that no student abandons their dream of earning a degree at Wayne State University solely because of housing or financial challenges.

“The foundation’s resolve to provide funding helps us pursue our mission to ensure that no student abandons their dream of earning a degree at Wayne State University solely because of housing or financial challenges.” says Jacqueline Wilson, who founded the HIGH program after learning a medical student lived in their car.

Besides donating to his community and steadily dropping rap singles, Big Sean is keeping busy. Big Sean makes his acting debut, earning a starring role on Lena Waithe’s scripted series Twenties, appearing on BET in 2020.
