Jordan Brand has added two new players to it’s star studded roster. Jordan announced that Boston Celtics rising star Jayson Tatum and Washington Wizards first round draft pick Rui Hachimura will be welcomed to the Jordan family.

Tatum is in his third year with the Celtics. The Boston star was last with Nike and helped usher in the newest technology to hit the basketball court with the Nike Adapt BB. Tatum, who wore either the breakthrough Adapt BB or the Kyrie Irving line, will now have a new set of iconic sneakers to choose from. Hachimura was the first Japanese national to be selected in the first round of the NBA Draft. The new Wizards forward will also be the first Japanese-born player to sign with Jordan. In signing the former Gonzaga standout, Jordan Brand will look to have further appeal acorss the globe.
One thing to keep an eye on is Tatum moving to Jordan from their parent comapny, Nike. This could be viewed as a move to try to make room for another signature player to join their roster with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving among others already locked in.
The tandem will join Russell Westbrook, Blake Griffin, and Kemba Walker among others on Jordan Brand. This move will hopefully help shore up the loss of superstar Kawhi Leonard, who left and signed with New Balance last fall. With the anticipation of free agency approaching, Leonard has had to be more active in defending his brand. The current Raptors forward is suing Nike for improper use of his logo.
