The Toronto Raptors announced Wednesday that they traded Malachi Richardson, the draft rights to Emir Preldzic and a 2022 second-round pick to the Philadelphia 76ers, in exchange for cash considerations:

The Toronto Raptors announced Wednesday they have acquired cash considerations from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for guard Malachi Richardson, the draft rights to forward Emir Preldzic and draft considerations.

The news was first reported by Keith Pompey of the Philly Inquirer:

This is somewhat of a homecoming for Richardson; he is from New Jersey and played AAU ball in Philadelphia.

Richardson, 23, was drafted 22nd overall by the Sacramento Kings in 2016 out of Syracuse University.

Richardson is tall and spindly for a shooting guard; he stands 6 feet 6 inches and is listed at 205 pounds. He has struggled to find consistent success in the NBA thus far. For his career, he has averaged 2.8 points in 8.9 minutes per game while shooting 35.8 percent from the field and 30.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Preldzic is a 6-foot-9 Turkish combo forward who was drafted 57th overall by the Phoenix Suns back in 2009. Preldzic has yet to play in an NBA game.
