After the Houston Rockets dropped game two of the Western Conference Finals against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday, the city of Houston rebounded with the release of Houston’s own, Travis Scott’s newest single. His newest record, “Watch”, features Philadelphia’s own, Lil Uzi Vert and the man who can’t stay out of the headlines, Kanye West. The record sounds very much like the Travis Scott we have come to know over the past five years with a splash of a new sound.

Lil Uzi Vert kicks off the record talking his usual talk. He raps, “VVS diamonds, they pop just like kettle/I popped a molly to get on my level/Rockin’ that Ricky and Raf, here my sweater/Yeah, Patek Philippe, it cloudy like Heaven.” Following up Uzi, Travis Scott raps, “We go with the dawgs and then we flee/Way this summer goin’ I might start my summer leave/Every young n*gga get a check and get a team/Yeah, man’s on the front line ’cause man’s on his defense/No small faces, it’s just an AP beamin’.” As you can imagine, Kanye grabs the track towards the end and addresses the craziness that he has caused over the past few weeks by rapping, “Opioid addiction, pharmacy’s the real trap/Sometimes I feel trapped, Jordan with no Phil Jack/One year it’s Illuminati, next year it’s the Sunken Place/They don’t want me to change, nah, n*gga run in place.”

It’s unclear whether or not this record will end up on Travis Scott’s long-awaited Astroworld, so we’ll have to wait and see about that. In the meantime, check out the record and let us know what you think.
