The Rockets are signing swingman Le’Bryan Nash, reports Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle:

Rockets will release center Brandan Wright, who will be unable to come back from his knee issue. Had a procedure. A full recovery is expected. Will rehab with the Rockets. Will also F Le'Bryan Nash to the roster spot, source said.

Wright’s release is likely due to his injury, points out ESPN’s Tim MacMahon:

Rockets are releasing big man Brandan Wright, as @Jonathan_Feigen reported. Wright played only one game after signing with Houston following Memphis buyout and recently underwent scope on knee.

After four standout seasons at Oklahoma State, Nash spent time with Japan’s Fukushima Firebonds, G League team Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Korea’s Busan KT Sonicboom. Now, Nash is getting his first shot at an NBA team. On a team as good as the Rockets, however, Nash is unlikely to crack the rotation.

Nash brings size and athleticism but has yet to show off any real outside shot, making his odds of playing for the Rockets even slimmer.

With Busan KT Sonicboom in 2017-18, Nash has averaged 18.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while shooting 52.6 percent from the floor.
