Milwaukee Bucks forward Mirza Teletovic will be sidelined indefinitely after it was discovered he has pulmonary embolisms in his lungs, the team announced on Friday.

Teletovic experienced unusual fatigue earlier in the week, according to the Bucks, which led him to consult with doctors and undergoing tests. He will rest for the next 10 days and begin a supervised rehabilitation program afterwards.

Pulmonary embolism is a condition in which one or more arteries in the lung become blocked by a blood clot, according to the Mayo Clinic, and can cause significant damage or even death if not treated properly. Symptoms can include shortness of breath, chest pain or excessive coughing.

Teletovic has missed the past 16 games due to arthroscopic surgery performed on his knee in November, and this isn’t the first time he’s suffered from blood clots. He also had difficulties with the condition back in 2015 when he played for the Brooklyn Nets. Other NBA players, including ex-Heat forward Chris Bosh, have also suffered from the condition.

Teletovic, 32, is in his sixth professional season. He’s spent time with the Nets, Suns and Bucks during his NBA career.
