Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Derrick Rose will reportedly miss two-weeks-worth of basketball games. Rose, as told to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin has a “jacked-up” ankle that has been bothering him for some time.

Following from ESPN,

“Just a jacked-up ankle,” Rose told ESPN. “I’m just trying to figure it out, bro. Right now, it’s just a jacked-up ankle. Just sore. I’m getting a lot of treatment for it, and tonight will be my first time wearing a boot. So I’ll wear this, for I don’t know how long, to see how it helps.”

Rose last appeared in the Cavalier’s win over the Milwaukee Bucks on November 7. In his place, the Cavs have employed a mix of LeBron James, and Iman Shumpert at the point spot.

The team’s projected starting point guard Isaiah Thomas has not played a game this season. Although, there is growing belief within the squad that he could make a return as soon as December.

For Rose, he says that conditioning will be a hurdled during his evaluation process that is supposed to run the course of the full “two-three weeks.” During that time, Rose will be in the boot as a way to limit the ankle to any unnecessary pressure.

The boot will undoubtedly affect his conditioning according to Rose.

“Yeah, that’s gone,” Rose said. You can’t do anything for a while. You just got to wait and see what it is and just go from there. I know the wind thing is probably out the window.”

Rose has had a decent season, individually for Cleveland. However, his 14 points and 1.7 assists are both career lows. The missed time from Rose could lead to more time for Dwyane Wade who has seen limited time since going to the bench in favor of JR Smith.
