Cinq Music is banking on Master P to bring that No Limit genius to there Urban Music department.

Billboard reports that Percy Miller has been named President of Urban Music at the data-driven company. Cinq has found recent success in its Latin division and was rewarded with a $20 million infusion of cash from GoDigital Media Group, its parent company.

Cinq Music co-founder/president, Barry Daffurn, is excited about the move. In a statement, Daffurn had the following to say:

“Master P is an iconic artist/entrepreneur that will help Cinq and all its artists maximize the value of their intellectual property. Many artists only concentrate on their creativity, but Master P saw his work through the eyes of an entrepreneur.”

P told Billboard that his role will be to find “untapped talent” that can be groomed to be successful independently. Miller says the talent can be raw but adds, “they gotta believe in their product and they gotta invest their time just like we’re gonna invest and money.”

The No Limit Founder has had a relationship with GoDigital Media Group and CEO Jason Peterson for about a decade. The relationship dates back to when P partnered Peterson to digitally distribute his catalog.

Master P is no stranger to assisting rising stars. He was helping Kodak Black prior to the blow-up. P even hopped on independent artist Peewee Longway’s ‘Master Peewee’ track.

Given Master P’s history and business acumen, I think it’s safe to say this will be a success for Cinq Music.
