Raptors’ Jared Sullinger Making Season Debut VS 76ers Tonight

The Toronto Raptors have been without their big free agent acquisition all season. On Wednesday night, Jared Sullinger will be making his season debut for the Raptors, a few months after he underwent preseason foot surgery.

Sully joined the Raptors this summer following the Boston Celtics decision to sign Al Horford to a max deal. Jared decided to sign a one-year deal with the Raptors, and all was going in the right direction. He shed some weight and was guaranteed the starting power forward spot. He decided to go to Toronto to help them win and challenge the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference.

With Toronto sitting just 1.5 games behind a Cavs team fresh off a horrible west coast road trip, the Raptors are adding another important part to their already great team.

Following from the Toronto Raptors media relations.

Following Sullinger’s foot surgery, many questioned who would step up in his place. It turned out that high energy rookie Pascal Siakam out of New Mexico State became the starter. Bebe Nogueira, Patrick Patterson and another rookie in Jakob Poeltl filled in some minutes at that position too but no one has truly made an impact at the power forward spot for the Raptors.

Could Sullinger come in and do that for Toronto? Only time will tell. But at least we get to see the big man take the court and get back into the rotation and eventually the starting lineup.
