Fortitude and Athena

For most of the past year, my mom and I have saved all of our YouTube income so we could finally cross a Doll off our wishlists– Danny Choo’s Smart Doll. I wanted to show you the two dolls we ordered and give you an idea of the process we went through.

Ordering Our Smart Dolls

I had always assumed it was complicated to order a Smart Doll because the company is based in Japan. How wrong I was! First time customers have to prove that they’re not buying dolls to scalp them. To filter those buyers out, Danny and his team ask you to answer a few questions before they allow your purchase. Truthfully, this caused me a bit of anxiety. Ordering a Smart Doll was actually a bit stressful, not knowing if the answers to your questions would make you seem fishy and get your doll order cancelled.

As it turned out, our orders went through pretty quick and our dolls actually shipped within a week of the order and were set to arrive in less than two weeks. That is, until customs came into the picture. A mistake was made somewhere between Japan and US customs that left our dolls hanging out in limbo for a week or so, waiting for paperwork to be resubmitted and looked over so they could continue on their way to us. Eventually, the confusion was cleared up and they thankfully arrived to our home safe and sound!

Smart Doll Athena and Fortitude

For my Smart Doll, I chose Fortitude in Tea. She has the cutest freckles and a slightly open mouth. I loved her fun loving look. Her wig is a great color, though I do plan on switching it out eventually with a fantasy color.

My mom opted for Athena in Tea. Athena has a different look to Fortitude. Where Fortitude looks like she stepped out of an anime, Athena looks more like she’s a character in a manga. She has really pretty eyes!

Both of us opted to order elf ears in tea. They don’t stay in very well without putty. Your wig choice also impacts how well they’ll fit. Still, though, they’re adorable! I’m happy to have them for the day I feel like making my Smart Doll a bit more elfish!

We’re both very happy to have had the chance to add Smart Dolls to our collections! I don’t imagine I’ll be able to afford another, but just one is enough!

Do you own a Smart Doll? Which is it? Let us know in the comment area!
