One of my favorite movies and cartoons growing up was Beetlejuice. Some might say it’s a bit macabre, but its mix of humor, horror and quirky characters was very enjoyable to young me. I still enjoy watching the movie when it’s on. Today, Mattel Creations announced their newest Monster High collector doll set– and I want it!

Going on sale Friday, August 13, 2021 at 9am Pacific Time is a two doll set featuring our favorite ghouls in a Beetlejuice inspired look. Beetlejuice and Lydia are being sold together with a retail price of $90.00. It’s a bit pricey, but if you break it down, it’s basically $45.00 per doll. Still a bit much, but so worth it for these creepy cool characters.

Lydia looks a lot like Winona Ryder’s take on the character, while Beetlejuice is a fantastic mixture of Monster High glam mixed with the characters iconic look. Both dolls were designed by Monster High designer, Rebecca Shipman, who describes her art as, “a little dark but sweet, eerie but [also] pretty, kind of weird and funny… all at the same time.”

Let’s not forget the accessories. Lydia comes with a doll sized version of The Handbook for the Recently Deceased and a camera. I love the prop! Beetlejuice also gets a pretty wicked look with bright green hair and fantastic purple eye make up.

The website doesn’t say how limited these dolls are, but if you are looking to add these new ghouls to your collection, I highly recommend setting your timers for Friday, August 13th, 2021, 9AM Pacific time.
