The Barbie Tour Truck has been revamped to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Malibu Barbie! Not only has the van been decked out with a new look, Mattel has outfitted it with all new retro merchandise with a Malibu vibe. My mom and I visited the Barbie truck when it stopped by a local mall back in October of 2020.

Much of what we did was wait in line, but it was still a blast! We people watched and chatted with some really fun Barbie fans to pass the time. See the goodies we picked up during what was dubbed the “throwback tour” in the video below!

Currently, the truck is touring around the Pacific coast, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it ventured out further after this initial relaunch! Not all the merchandise has been previewed on social media, but with the grand opening of this new truck this week, I’m sure we’ll have a better idea of the ‘menu’ soon.

I’m excited Mattel is keeping their Barbie truck around and changing things up to keep it interesting. I love visiting trucks like this, even if it’s mostly standing in line!
