Mom and I virtually attended Sweet Suite @ Home this month. Hosted by The Toy Insider, Sweet Suite is an influencer event for toy bloggers, YouTubers and social media gurus. Before the pandemic, it was an in person event that took place in New York City. They adjusted things a bit because of Covid the past few years and have made it a 100% virtual event. Personally, I love the virtual events, because it allows us to attend. (We’re in the midwest– New York City is not!) One nice perk of Sweet Suite is that, besides putting you in contact with really awesome PR folks, they send off an amazing box of swag to attendees. You’ll be seeing posts about some of those items in the future weeks!

Today’s post is about something that really stole the show for us. Ironically, we missed them at the actual event, but fell hard for them after an influencer box arrived at the doorstep, on top of the general swag box. Today’s topic? Cats vs. Pickles!

Looking for Friendship

Cats vs. Pickles plays on the idea that cats are afraid of pickles, due to their likeness to snakes, as seen in many, many YouTube videos. In the case of this plush toy line, though, the misunderstood pickles just want to be the cat’s friends! Maybe, through play, you can help them become fast friends!

2021’s biggest “cat-astic collectable”, Cats vs. Pickles come in various sizes and price points. Each size is built a little differently. The largest size are the 20 inch tall ‘Huggers’. They’re soft and huggable! Huggers retail for around $29.99. I really love the size of these guys– they’re perfect to snuggle with or even use as a head rest.

Cats vs. Pickles also come in Jumbo sizes (8.5 Inches), which are smaller than the Huggers, but bigger than the mystery minis. The Jumbo’s have beans in their base, to help them stand without needing to be propped up, but are also stuffed towards the top. They retail around $20.00.

The 4 inch bean filled plushies are sold outside of packaging or sold in mystery packaging. We opened the mystery packs in our video reveal and had a lot of fun! It looks like they’ll also be released in more seasonal looks around the holidays (Holiday Cats vs Pickle Beans), which I’m excited for! These sizes retail for $4.99.

I found that this size was great for just holding in the palm of your hand. Completely filled with beans, they make great gifts for those who like sensory toys.

Playsets, Too!

Adding to the play value, you can also buy these guys in play sets or expand your collection with the Deluxe Kitty Condo. There are three playsets: Kitty Cakes Bakery, Pickle Shack Drive In and Nacho Cat’s Taco Hut! I’d like to see these in person to see what other dolls the playsets might work for! Also, because they’re so darn cute!
