Dressed in bold, over the top fashions, Barbie Extra stands out from the crowd with a fresh sense of style that very few Barbie’s have had before! The five dolls in this line are trendsetters when it comes to their colorful and vibrant style. Each have 15 “made to slay” fashion accessories and are on articulated bodies making them easy to pose! They also come with their very own pet. Let’s take a look at the five inaugural dolls in the line. None of the Barbie Extra dolls seem to have character names, something I wish Mattel would go back to, so for this post, I’ll just call them all Barbie.

The first Barbie in the line is one of my favorites. Her dark complexion looks lovely with the bright, bold rainbow Jacket and red workout attire. I also really like her Hair- the afro is so much fun! She’s a Barbie I would consider buying.

The second Barbie Extra is my least favorite. This Asian characters color scheme is shimmery pastels, which doesn’t do much for me, personally. I think there are better colors to go with her porcelain skin. She’s on the curvy body and has very long pink and purple hair, 8.5 inches, to be exact. I think her face paint and glasses are pretty cool, but the rest of the look doesn’t do it for me.

The third Barbie Extra brings the party with her in her fluffy pink jacket, sparkly top and skinny jeans. I’m a fan of her crimped hair and space buns. Her face is done well, but isn’t very different from what you’d see on your ‘typical’ Barbie doll. I do like her brows, though! Barbie has a pet Unicorn.

Also on a curvy body is a medium skinned doll with stand out curly blue hair and a funky top knot. The fourth Barbie Extra has a face full of freckles, which is a feature I like to see in dolls. Sporty, she wears a tie-dye top and white shorts layered with a blue bomber jacket with orange lining and working zipper. Barbie comes with two kittens as her pet.

This next doll is my second favorite of the group, probably because of her fun hair and fringe jacket! This fifth Barbie Extra has a medium skin tone and wears a graphic tee and denim shorts with real pockets layered with a flame-print denim jacket with extra-long fringe on the arms. I love the rainbow colored hair done up in two thick braids. She comes with a pet puppy.
