Mattel’s newest Barbie Signature line, BMR1959, is inspired by today’s hottest streetwear trends. The six Dolls in the line are different than anything we’ve seen before!
Personally, I’m not crazy about these dolls. However, I am excited to see that they’re all articulated, even the male dolls. Hopefully, these new male bodies open the door to Made to Move Ken dolls. From what I can tell, the BMR1959 dolls aren’t specific characters, so they can be whoever you’d like them to be.
Fun fact: BMR1959 is a tribute to the original origins of the Barbie line with BMR standing for Barbie’s full name, Barbara Millicent Roberts, and 1959 being the year Barbie was released!
You’ll notice that these dolls come in varying body types, but all use the Made to Move body, meaning they have articulation in their shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles.
