Scott Williams named president of CD Baby and Soundrop

Scott Williams has been named president of CD Baby and Soundrop, owned by Downtown Music Holdings.

Williams previously served as chief technology officer at CD Baby.

Williams joined CD Baby in 2013 as vice president of technology, then was promoted to chief technical officer in 2019.

He played a “central” role in launching music distribution service Soundrop, according to the company, and also led the team behind CD Baby’s reporting to its artist clients, who have now been receiving payments for more than two years. decades.

Prior to her role at CD Baby, Williams led technology at the companies EdTech Avant Assessment and Apprentissage.com.

Williams is the recipient of the 2019 Rapid Growth Award from 7CTOs, an organization that promotes the growth of technology leaders.

He has also been a member of the DDEX Board of Directors since 2020, representing Downtown Music Holdings.

CD Baby notes that it now distributes more than 10 million titles for 1.2 million artists worldwide.
