Poetry: To Meet You

To Meet You I would like to meet youOn an autumn night,While the wind blows andThe stars are shining bright. I would like to gaze into your eyesAnd converse in a sweet tone,While, ingenuously,Time would linger, unknown. I only need a kiss,For it is my Sole Bliss. I only need a moment,Some shared space, omnipotent. I will wait my whole life; And even if it is not here,Distance is not of the essence. Consequences make no difference,Circumstances are no askance.I already know your pretty faceAnd your voice has a delightful grace. I only need a kiss,For it is my sole bliss. I only need a moment,Some common ground, omnipotent. Soon after, we can part.Future plans are unnecessary. And it would be drearyTo bring in immorality. What a joy to think of you! So, until we finally meet… ©2008 Cendrine Marrouat This poem was originally written in 2008 and entered in the Sensational Challenge organized by Vocal in April 2023.
