During SDCC Hiya Toys debuted their Star Trek 2009 figures, the first Star Trek Figures they produced. They showed a number of figures both finalized and in work in progress stages. And now they have put the first two figures up for pre-order. The first two figures are Chris Pine’s Captain James T. Kirk and Karl Urban’s Dr. McCoy. I have to say both of these figures look fantastic! I’m very impressed with the likenesses of the figures for this scale and the number of accessories they come with.

Both of these figures look very promising and I’m hoping that Hiya Toys can release a number of figures from the 2009 film as we have had a number of stop-starts for affordable Star Trek action figures McFarlane Toys only released two before they were abruptly canceled. Diamond Select Toys released Spock & Kirk from the 09 film and that was it. The only successful affordable Star Trek figures we have had are from Playmates & Mego. These 4″ scale figures look very promising and I’ll be very keen to see more hopefully, they will be available to pre-order here in the UK soon.
