For many years I have been hoping we’ll be getting Starkiller from The Force Unleashed videogame and yesterday afternoon I was jumping for joy for this reveal. Then I was slightly disheartened by the price. I’m relieved that he isn’t an SDCC exclusive but a Pulsecon exclusive which means he should be easier to purchase.

Firstly I am not very happy with the price tag being $110.00 and coming with two Imperial Stormtroopers which have had a number of releases on the latest body mold. I am thrilled with Starkiller and all his accessories, which I think should have been exclusive, it didn’t need the extra two figures and they could have charged $50/$60 for it and many collectors would have been very happy with it.

Starkiller looks fantastic, just like how he did in the game with the first outfit (training outfit) that he wore in the game. The likeness to Sam Witwer is fantastic and I love all the head sculpts that he comes with. They really capture the great facial expressions he had in the game. The interchangeable hands are a great treat as we don’t get enough figures with interchangeable hands in the Black Series, especially for the force-using characters and I really love them.

Interchangeable blades for the lightsaber are very nice as you could change the Kyber Crystal in your lightsaber so it’s great that it has carried over to the figure. I’m really happy to see the swoosh effect blade that we originally got with Count Dooku a few years ago. I didn’t think we would get force effect pieces, but I am very happy to see this with the force repulse ring, force push hand, and the force lightning hands.

I’ve heard rumblings that there will be a solo deluxe release for Starkiller but I don’t know how deluxe that will be. Will he come with the interchangeable hands & heads? I’ve been wary of the deluxe releases of late on how ‘deluxe’ they really are. So I’m looking to get this release of Starkiller as I know he comes with everything and I’ve wanted this character for years. I’ll be interested to see the solo deluxe release as well.

I’m hoping with Starkiller finally being in the Black Series that we’ll get some other characters from the Force Unleashed games in the Black Series. I would love to see Rahm Kota, Juno Eclipse, & Proxy in the Black Series. Hopefully, we’ll get other figures of Starkiller from The Force Unleashed II and some of the different outfits, especially that Sith Stalker armor. Tell me that won’t look good in figure form!

For too long The Force Unleashed has been ignored in the Black Series so hopefully this will be just the beginning. This figure set will be on display at SDCC and the date of Pulsecon will be announced at the event.
