Bitesize Drama and an Evening of Short Plays features Sherlock Holmes short story The Prisoner’s Mystery

The Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks Kent mounted several short stories for their September production which included John DeGaetano’s 10 minute play, The Prisoner’s Mystery.

September 2015: This post is to archive information about the production. The show was performed cabaret style along with dinner. Sandra Barfield, director and member of the Stage Theatre company initially asked actors to read many varied plays upon which the final plays were ultimately chosen from the selection to be performed.

The Stag Theatre Company started life as the in-house amateur group at the Stag Theatre, Sevenoaks alongside but separate from Stag Tech which professionally showcases the theatre’s technical facilities in their productions. The company produces an assortment of musicals, plays, revues, murder mysteries and fund raising events

I was very delighted to able to attend the production and visit with the company,” said John DeGaetano, author of the short stories. “The stories are designed primarily for students to build life-long experience in performance skills. The plays are easy to recite, true to form in elements of mystery/comedy, and light-hearted adventures. In fact, many of the stories are available royalty free for educational fundraising purposes.”
