“That poor woman,” my friend Penny says.

“What?  Why?” I ask.

“She’s Severely Handicapped and can barely walk,” she said.

I looked over and saw a young woman, arms loaded with bags of groceries, and a cup with a straw in it clenched in her teeth.  Holding the door open with one foot, she smiled and waved at us.

“Aren’t we all Severely handicapped in some way or another?” I think.

Aloud I say, “And yet she’s managing quite well.”
