Tuesday Trivia: Did You Know Dhanush Took 6 Minutes FLAT To Write The Lyrics Of Kolaveri Di?

Popular Kollywood star Dhanush, who has also worked in Bollywood films, turns 37 today. The multi-talented personality he's also a producer, director, writer, lyricist, screenwriter and playback singer has delivered great hits and memorable performances in his illustrious career. While Dhanush is a big name in Tamil cinema, he made an impressive debut in Bollywood as well with Aanand L Rai's 2013 film, Raanjhanaa, for which he also garnered the Filmfare Best Debut award. However, Dhanush had already garnered popularity across the nation before Raanjhanaa, with the reason behind this his peppy track, Kolaveri Di, which was an instant hit and got love from all over the country and outside it as well.

The song was from his film '3', which also featured Shruti Haasan and Sivakarthikeyan in prominent roles. Dhanush had crooned and wrote the lyrics of this chartbuster track, which became the first Indian song to cross 100 million views on YouTube. While the song is immensely enjoyed even today, you will be surprised to know that Dhanush wrote its lyrics in 6 Minutes Flat, and the rough version was recorded in merely 35 minutes. Well, we can definitely say that the multi-talented personality is indeed a creative genius.

On the professional front, Dhanush will next be seen in Jagame Thandiram, which is directed by Petta helmer Karthik Subbaraj. It also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi and James Cosmo in key roles. Talking about his Bollywood work, he will resume the shoot of Aanand L Rai's Atrangi Re from October along with Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar. It will be shot in Madhurai, Mumbai and Delhi. The film is co-written by ALR's frequent collaborator, Himanshu Sharma. The music of Atrangi will be composed by Academy Award winner AR Rahman while the lyrics will be penned by Irshad Kamil.

Here's wishing Dhanush, a very happy birthday.
