While many TV stars are happy that studios are re-opening, some have different priorities. One of the shows that is getting a lot of love from the audience is Star Bharat's Jag Jaanani Maa Vaishno Devi Kahani Mata Rani Ki. Mythological shows invariably do well and this one also has a huge fan base. Now, news has come that Puja Banerjee who plays the lead role on the show has decided to quit. It seems her exit was being speculated since some time but now we have heard it from the horse's mouth. Puja Banerjee says, "Yes, it is true I have quit the show. As an ardent follower of the Goddess, I had never imagined having played this character. But you never what turn life takes. I needed a break from my work where I wanted to spend more time with my family in this new phase of my life."

She got married to her long-time beau Kunal Verma in the lockdown. They were planning a lavish wedding but had to make do with a court marriage. The couple donated some sum for the relief of people left jobless due to the pandemic. Puja Banerjee further adds, "I feel privileged to have to played the lead role of Maa Vaishno Devi in the show. I would like to thank each and every one who has poured out their love and support when I was chosen for this role. Till then please continue to keep me in your prayers." This is not the first time that she has excelled in a mythological show. She played Parvati to perfection in Devon Ke Dev - Mahadev.

Now, comes the exciting news. The makers have begun a hunt for her replacement. As per rumours, some of the top actresses of TV like Sonarika Bhadoria, Tejaswi Prakash, Shrenu Parikh and Niyati Fatnani have been short-listed by the makers.
