Kartik Aaryan — Mr. Dependable: Comedy Or Drama, Romantic Or Emotional, The Actor Never Fails To Impress In Every Role

Kartik Aaryan is known as a comic genius of modern Hindi cinema. He's time and again proved his aptitude in the genre right from his debut film, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, followed by more stellar acts in films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (the sequel to his first film), Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Luka Chuppi and Pati Patni Aur Woh. However, somewhere between making our stomachs hurt and throats soar from hysterical laughter, we've sorely missed or chosen to ignore something both the audience and Bollywood filmmakers have been guilty of what a brilliant all-round talent Kartik Aaryan is.

Right after his first outing on the big screen, Kartik has started in an underrated gem of a romantic film, Akaash Vani, helmed by his Pyaar Ka Punchnama and SKTKS Director, Luv Ranjan, and costarring his Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh, both of whom acted in the Pyaar Ka Punchnama franchise as well as SKTKS. Unfortunately it failed to leave a mark with the audience because a.) They failed to turn up as most were wished for another out-and-out comedy from the same team (Luv's own words) and b.) The timing of the release was wrong as it clashed with a multi-starrer biggies like Race 2 (Kartik's own words). However, those (like yours truly) who've seen it swear by the quality of the films, and, especially, how Kartik Aaryan blew our socks off with a matured performance years beyond his age.

In fact, Kartik's adaptability and ability to emote diverse thoughts and feelings was on display in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, too, where he admirable balanced emotions, conflict and hurt with humour, particularly toward the finale. Discerning viewers and film critics did take note of his layered act, but, once again, most viewers and many in the media couldn't look beyond his brilliant comic timing probably his comical chops are so good that it serves as a double-edge sword for the actor, burgeoning his fan-following and stardom with each film, but somehow shrouding the complexity and diversity a performer of his calibre is capable of.

Kartik finally got a chance to let his versatility shine with his latest release, Director Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal, which also stars Sara Ali Khan as the leading lady. Sadly, the film met with ubiquitous criticism from reviewers, subsequently translating to negativity among the audience and a massive drop in footfalls from day 2 onward. That being said, Kartik completely nailed his part, and if there's one saving grace of Love Aaj Kal, then everyone unanimously agrees that it's his performance. Regardless where the film holds or dips, Kartik Aaryan is in top form, nailing both his roles (despite Raghu being so poorly defined), and proving to one and all that his talent lies far beyond than only excelling at comedy.

Meanwhile, check out the top trending entertainment news below:

No matter the outcome of Love Aaj Kal, we're glad that Kartik Aaryan did it, just so that a large section of people now know how versatile he is and how he can be depended on irrespective of how a film shapes up something very few actors are capable of as rising above the constraints of a script requires very, very special talent, and Kartik is abounding with it. It's only a matter of time before his repertoire is filled with brilliant movies showcasing all facets of his acting brilliance.
